Get to Know Me

About the Project:

The question I'm most frequently asked is how did I come up with Kindred Conversations. Answering always makes me feel like I'm grasping at straws because it's the culmination of many different ideas I've been exploring throughout my adolescence and early adulthood. This project was born as the answer to three main questions:

  • How can I foster authentic interactions that extend beyond surface-level in my everyday life?
  • Is it possible to be genuine on social media platforms?
  • If the soul is both shy and savvy, can I create a safe space for it to be more exposed?

Ultimately, Kindred Conversations is the collision of my passion for people, my love of photographs, and my New Year's resolution to lead a more fulfilling life. This project is special to me because it allows me to combine all those loves in order to tell your stories.

About the Girl:

My name is Kelsey. I work as a graphic designer & social media director by day, a photographer by night, and a writer whenever I can find a spare moment. I'm the textbook definition of the word introvert. I love all things floral, fresh air, handwritten letters, and jamming to Taylor Swift in my car. I think "thank you" notes are important. I want to be the kind of person who actually does the things I've dreamed of doing. I've gathered a sprawling collection of journals and pretty mugs. My definition of fulfillment is still a work in progress, but it has to do with a sense of "fullness" that comes with doing meaningful activities. I'm really really excited that you care enough to read this.
